Who is NS MVP:

NS MVP (North Shore Mother Visiting Partnership) is a public health initiative providing FREE home visits from Public Health Nurses to new parents in the North Shore area. Our mission is to bridge the postpartum care gap by offering personalized support, resources, and assessments to ensure the well-being of both mothers and infants. We prioritize maternal health equity and work to reduce disparities, offering universal support regardless of insurance or income.

Who is Eligible:

Any caregiver or guardian welcoming a new infant into their home is eligible, as well as anyone in the postpartum period,
regardless of their child’s presence.

What New Parents Will Receive:

New parents receive a comprehensive home visit from a Public Health Nurse, including a well-being assessment and open-ended conversation to check in on how mom is doing. This is not a medical assessment! Parents are provided with essential resources, gifts for parent and baby, and referrals to local services. The focus is on ensuring both the mother's and infant's needs are met.

What to Expect During Your Visit:

A gift bag filled with essentials like diapers, wipes, and other freebies!

Recommended resources for both parent and baby.

A demonstration of how to perform CPR on an infant.

A conversation with a Public Health Nurse about how you are doing and feeling, including a depression and anxiety assessment.

A non-judgemental discussion focused on parent and baby; centering the health of both.
